This website began as a companion to my latest book that was released, A Better Way Out: When You Feel Like Giving Up. The purpose of this site is to offer ongoing support and encouragement when the overnight miracles haven't happened; and you feel alone and battle-weary with how discouragement seems to lengthen your painful journey.
Although I now live with a deep-seated joy, contentment, and peace in my heart and mind, it wasn't always this way for me! Because I once battled severe depression (with suicide temptation), anxiety/panic attacks, an eating disorder, and other emotional turmoil, I have an overwhelming sense of compassion for those who are broken, bound, and bruised by painful experiences in life. I understand what it is like to feel defeated and full of dread even before the day begins; I have been there. I keenly remember the relentless struggle with fear; traumatic experiences have a way of making even the most irrational fears seem oh so real.
These are only a few examples of how I have walked a road that you may be traveling now, seeking desperately for hope. This website is intended to connect with you and share the hope that I have found to be eternally lasting and secure. His name is Jesus.
You may already know Him, yet your heart is still hurting from deeply painful circumstances. Or, you may not know Him at all. Either way, this site is for you--either to draw closer to Him and find healing, hope, and help to overcome your pain and struggle; or you may discover Who He is for the first time and want to find out more.
So wherever you are in your life's journey, feel free to reach out to me or just receive from Him as you read the ever-developing content. My heart is to pour out His love and truth as an extension of all I wrote in the book. With Jesus, there is no end to all He wants to pour out for us. He is that Living Water that causes us to never be thirsty again, as He told the woman at the well in John 4. We will drink of Him together and see what all He has for us!
Above all, never despair; there is so much hope, whether you feel it yet or not. "'For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,' says the Lord, 'plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope'" (Jeremiah 29:11 AMP).
You are welcome to keep coming back here to see new content. However, a better option is to subscribe to my newsletter! You will get updates on new posts and special content that is only available to my subscribers.
Not to worry, I am quite sensitive to the fact that too much email from one source is overwhelming and annoying. It will just be a dose of encouragement once or twice a week.
Also, your email address will be safe, and under no circumstances ever sold or shared.
Thanks for subscribing!
